A highly experienced Viniyoga practitioner, Dr Kausthub Desikachar holds a master's degree in Economics and a Master of Management Studies from the reputed Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani. He also completed his PhD through the Psychology department of the University of Madras. He began his career as an economic strategist at the Murugappa Group in 1997, and soon after shifted his focus to focus full time on the Viniyoga Tradition.

In 2000, Kausthub Desikachar joined the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram as editor of its publication department and served three years in this capacity. He concurrently worked as a senior Yoga Therapy Consultant and later served as a chief strategic consultant.

In 2006, together with his father, he co-founded the Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation, and through it, has raised the awareness of and expanded the reach of Viniyoga globally. He has also been instrumental in creating the world's earliest Yoga Therapy Training programs and has trained many Yoga Therapists in the Viniyoga tradition worldwide.

In 2016, Dr Kausthub Desikachar also founded the KHYF International in Belgium, together with his senior students Philip Rigo and Evelyn Einhäuser, as an offering to his father TKV Desikachar.

Dr Kausthub Desikachar is also the founder and director of Viniyoga Pte Ltd. in Singapore, through which he oversees Viniyoga activities in South East Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia, China, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia.
